Continio is different in a structural way. You pay for it. So Continio works for you. There's no advertising layer to feed. No data to sell to make the model bigger. No third party with a stake in what you say.
This isn't a marketing claim. It's how the product is built. Everything below is the detail behind that sentence.
Stored in our database (Supabase, hosted in the EU). Encrypted at rest. Only you can read them when you sign in.
We never read your conversations. There's no one at Continio reviewing what you say.
The picture Continio builds of you (your work, your context, your preferences) is yours. Visible to you. Editable by you. Deletable by you.

Continio routes your messages through Claude, ChatGPT, Grok or Gemini depending on what you're doing. The AI providers we use have two completely different products: a consumer chat product (the one most people use directly), and an API product (which is what Continio uses).
This distinction matters more than most people realise. Here's why.
The terms governing API use are different to the terms most people agreed to as consumers. When Continio sends your message to an AI provider, that interaction is governed by Continio's contract with that provider. Your individual consent on the consumer side does not travel through Continio.
API terms with the providers we use exclude training on customer data by default. Continio does not opt in to training on either Anthropic's or OpenAI's platforms. What you say to Continio is not used to make those models bigger.
API providers retain message data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then delete it. Continio is applying for Zero Data Retention agreements with both Anthropic and OpenAI, which removes even that 30-day window. We will publish status here as those agreements are confirmed.
Not to advertisers. Not to data brokers. Not to other AI companies. Not anywhere. Continio's only revenue is from people paying for Continio.
Continio is built independently in the UK. We're small, and we're honest about that. The plan is a small team of like-minded humans who believe in what Continio stands for, working to keep making it better for the people who use it. Continio stays grounded in its principles, always.
Continio uses encryption at rest, encryption in transit, and provider contracts that exclude your data from training. The basic security posture is the same as every other AI product on the market. None of them are end-to-end encrypted in the strict sense, because the AI providers need to read your messages to respond to them.
Where Continio is different is what we'll never do with what you've shared. We won't sell your data to advertisers. We won't share it with data brokers. We won't enter contracts with governments, intelligence agencies, or military buyers. Continio's only customer is the person paying for Continio.
If you're working with information that needs absolute confidentiality (legal privilege, classified work, medical records subject to specific regulations) Continio is not the right tool. Use a tool built for that specifically.
For everything else (your day-to-day work, your thinking, your projects, your life) Continio is built to be a clean, honest place.
Open Settings, click Memory. Everything Continio has picked up about you is visible there, in plain text, organised the way the AI sees it.
Anything in your memory can be changed or deleted. Anything you've said to Continio can be deleted by deleting that conversation.
Your data is yours. You can export your conversations, your memory, and your files at any time, in formats you can take elsewhere.
One click. Your data is deleted from our database. Removed from active backups within 30 days.
