About

Built by a user.
For the user.

Continio is built independently in Devon, UK, by a solo female founder. Not a corporation. Not a side project. The thing I wanted to exist, that nobody was making.

No. 01 · The story

I was using AI every day.

For work. For thinking. For projects. For the things I was figuring out about myself and the people around me.

And it kept forgetting me. Mid-conversation. Halfway through one thread. The context would compact, the AI would start mixing things up, drifting, hallucinating connections to things I hadn't said. I'd correct it, it would apologise, it would do it again two messages later.

Even when it didn't drift, I was still telling the same AI the same things every new chat. Who I am. What I do. What I'm working on. What I care about. Over and over, like meeting someone for the first time, every time.

It wasn't just frustrating. It was wasteful. The hours I'd spent explaining myself, the context I'd painstakingly built up across hundreds of conversations, the texture of how I think, how I write, what I'm working through. All of it lost the moment a thread compacted, or I closed the tab.

So I started building the thing I wanted to use.

No. 02 · The insight

Continuity, not capture.

Memory products already existed. Notion, Obsidian, Mem, dozens of others. They all wanted you to capture, organise, tag, link. They were tools for archivists.

What I needed was different. Not a place to put information. A place where the AI I was already talking to remembered who I was. Without me curating it. Without me organising it. Without me doing extra work.

That's what Continio is. Continuity, not capture. The AI remembers you the way a thoughtful colleague would, and you can read what it remembers like a document. Edit it. Trust it. Stop telling it the same things.

The technology exists to do this. The reason it doesn't already exist is that the companies who could build it have other priorities. They're optimising for engagement, for advertisers, for shareholder returns, for whatever the quarter demands. Memory that genuinely serves the user isn't on their roadmap.

So I'm building it.

No. 03 · Where this is going

A small team of like-minded humans. Working to keep making it better. For the people who use it.

No. 04 · The team

Right now, it's me.

Continio is built and run by me, Lou May. A designer and photographer by background, neurodivergent, and an early adopter of AI.

I do the work. The architecture, the writing, the design, the photography, the conversations with users, the late nights debugging. The whole thing.

The plan is to grow into a small team of people who care about what Continio stands for. People who want to build something that genuinely serves the person paying for it, not the corporation behind it. We will grow slowly and deliberately, and only when it makes Continio better.

Continio stays grounded in its principles, always. That isn't a marketing line. It's the only reason this exists at all.

No. 05 · What stays true

Five things that don't change.

i

Continio is for the user.

Not advertisers. Not data brokers. Not governments or military buyers. The person paying for Continio is the only customer that matters.

ii

Honest about what it is.

And honest about what it isn't. We tell you what we store, where, how. We tell you what we don't do with it. More on Trust →

iii

Memory you can read.

What Continio remembers about you should be visible, editable, deletable. No hidden profiles. No silent inferences. If you can't read it, it shouldn't exist.

iv

No AI theatre.

No fake personality. No trying to sound clever. No pretending to feel things. Continio is a tool. It works for you. The end.

v

Slow, deliberate, sustainable.

We grow at a pace that lets us keep our principles. We hire when it makes the product better. We don't ship features that compromise what Continio is for.
